Detection devices
The basic principle of the anti-intrusion system is detection. The detection happens by changing the device’s relay state. Actually, the detection device is built with a relay, the normal position of a relay may be closed, and then when a detection happens the position will switch to an open. Thus, the control panel will recognize the situation and send an alarm.
Here some detection devices:
- Motion detectors
This is one of the stars components of anti-intrusion systems. Thanks to infrared sensors. It detects the presence of movements at real time. Then it sends signals to warn the control panel. It is also used in paper towel dispensers, automatic doors. We can use it in several functions as well like activating lights and switches… Etc.
- Glass break detectors
Installed in front of windows or large storefronts. It is equipped with a microphone that picks up sound. Therefore, he reacts to the sound of broken glass and sends the signal to the panels.
- Door contacts
Composed of the contact that is connected to the panel and a magnet. The contact installed on the doorframe. On the other hand, the magnet is installed on the door. Therefore opening the door moves away one from each other and indicates the state of the door open or close
Other detectors :
- Seismic detectors
They detect vibrations. For example a thief could drill or break the wall; the anti-seismic detector detects vibrations and signals to the panel
- Double beam detectors
One beam is a transceiver of infrared signal and a second is a receiver installed further away. The interruption of a signal and the signal means that an intruder has just passed. Therefore, it immediately sends the signal. The double beam detector a perimeter protection
- Water leak detectors
Usually installed a few centimeters above the ground. It warns in case of contact with water. Therefore, it sends a signal to avoid the flood
- Temperature detector
It warn when the temperature exceeds a certain degree. Actually it is used in refrigerators or freezers to prevent product losses. To conclude it consists of a probe placed in the refrigerator or freezer and connected to an external control module
Control panel
It is the brain of the system. All components are connected to it, either by wire or by Wi-Fi transmission. We configure the control panel so that it reacts the way we want if an event occurs. The panel is built with several points where the equipment are connected
Keyboard
it allows the user to communicate with the panel. First, the keyboard allows us to program our system. Then we can read what the system communicates through it. Therefore, it allows us to communicate with the system. Above all, we arm and disarm through it
Siren
this is the audible alarm; the system sounds if the alarm occurs.
On the other hand, the system could be configured announce the alarm in other forms. Light signal or send a message to a monitoring station
Where to install the system’s equipments ?
Before installing an anti intrusion, you must divide the house or a building you want to protect into different zones. Installes call this step: zoning
A zone corresponds to a point through which it is possible that an intruder could enter. Therefore, at each of these points, we will install an appropriate equipment as follow
First, Door contacts on perimeter entrances to supervise the doors and the windows
Then motion detectors in the various rooms and passages. In addition, intruder can enter without opening a door or windows. If this happens a motion detector will warn.
Glass break detectors in front of large shop windows or windows. Because breaking a glass is an easy way to enter in a property
If an intrusion occurs
Security systems are designed to accomplish certain actions when it detects an intrusion. What a security system does depends on what an installer programed it to and on the type of a product itself.
We can configure a system to send the alarm signals to a monitoring station; an alarm company that monitors systems then alert owners and call police in case of alarm.
