Security systems trends for 2021

Let me share with you my thoughts on security systems trends for 2021.

1- Cloud-based solutions Acceleration

The cloud solution brings several advantages to all sized businesses. With the cloud option there is no need for local servers and software. As a result this allows significant saving of time and costs. It offers no worries of space and maintenance. Since no physical data storage and nor personnel is needed. Consequently, better results and more efficiency by investing more on the equipment

Security system trends

Security systems trends are very visible with the proliferation of companies that offer video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) and hosted access control solutions as well.

In fact, the increasing number of smart cities and the arriving of 5G, are driving the market for hosted systems and VSaaS

2- Artificial intelligence

Nowadays cameras are built in with very optimized algorithms. That allows tremendous analytic capabilities. Also that allow to integrate them with all kind of sensors. They integrate with access control systems, anti-thief and intercoms as well.

Obviously, artificial intelligence offers smarter systems. As a result, they are able to take decisions without the intervention of human.

3- Accelerating the touchless access control system

The pandemic is driving the access control to touchless solutions. People no longer want to touch public door handles. Push buttons on elevators. With this intention, access control manufacturers are offering products that allow to comply to social distancing and health measures.

The trend in this case is mobile access. Provide real-time building occupancy…etc.

4- Cyber security

With IoT and the cloud solution, the cyber security is a big challenge. Protecting security devices and delivering data privacy is more than important. Never trust and always verify should be the slogan of security companies.

5- Deployment of 5G

The based 5G systems will replace the current 4G. They are designed to be more secure. Much faster than the technology in common use today. The networks will support mobile video, and public safety monitoring.
